Dear Members, Friends and Patrons,
Welcome back to the Pulaski Club as we resume our fall activities.
I hope everyone had a good and enjoyable summer and you are ready to enjoy club functions on our fall 2016 as well as spring 2017 schedule.
Before ending club activities for the summer, special events held were May 3rd – CONSTITUTION DINNER DANCE on May 1st, SHINE LIKE A DIAMOND TALENT SHOW on May 14 as well as our membership meeting. Thank you to all for making those events a success. Thank you to the Halina Kosinski and her kitchen staff for meal preparations as well as to all ladies for donation of home made pastries for the sweet table. Thank you to Rose Offerman-Barkschat for organizing the talent show, Rose Pachura and all the ladies giving a hand with this event. Great job ladies!
Our last event was a fund raiser for the club “RUMMAGE SALE” held on June 4th which added $880.00 to our treasury. A sincere thank you to everyone who donated their unwanted items for the sale as well as all members and directors helping with the sale on couple of the hottest days in June. To Jean Jorgensen, Kaz and Larry Tysiac, Rose and Dennis Pachura, Halina Kosinski, David and Princess Bonczkiewicz,. Paul Chojnacki, Barbra Komar, Rose Offerman-Barkschat and John Soltys, THANK YOU TO ALL, I could not hold this fund raising event with out you. During the couple of months the club was closed we did accomplish some of the projects as reported by our Board of Directors. Parking lot, fence painting and some maintenance items at the club were completed. THANK YOU TO ALL for contributing time and hard work in accomplishing the summer projects as well as the necessary clean up needed prior to reopening of the club.
As we resume club activities our Membership Meeting will be held on September 11th at 12:30 PM. Please join us. Our last membership meeting had poor attendance so I ask all members to please attend this meeting as well as all future Membership Meeting on our schedule. As stated on our schedule of activities this event is FREE admission to all members, Veterans, 1st Responders and Gov. Employees. Hope to see you all.
On a sad note, on June 25th, I lost my mom Helen Pietka, a Pulaski Club member. Mom will be missed by our family and many friends. We take comfort and believe she is in a better place and her suffering has ended as she passed in peace surrounded by her family she loved. We thank God we had her with us for so many years and will hold on to the memories she left behind. Personally and on behalf of our family I extend sincere THANK YOU for your expression of sympathy during this difficult time for us all. I also extend deepest sympathy to our 1st Vice Pres. Kaz Tysiac and her family on the loss of her mother, recording secretary Princess Bonczkiewicz and her family on the loss of her mother, and also to our chairman of the board, David Bonczkiewicz and his family on the recent loss of his grandmother.
Once again, WELCOME BACK! Hope to see you all at your club events.
Best Wishes, Mary Kiselus, President
1st VICE PRESIDENT – Kaz Tysiac
Welcome back, it is hard to believe that summer is almost over.
A big welcome to the new members that were sworn in at the May meeting and we are looking forward to the applicants that are scheduled to be sworn in at the September 11th meeting.
We have some great activities planned over the next several months. If you know anyone who would like to join us as a guest, and possibly become a new member, please bring them to the activities and introduce them to the Executive Board and Board of Directors.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you at our upcoming activities. Please remember, that we are always looking for volunteers to help with planning, decorating, cooking and/or cleaning - all help is much appreciated.
CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD “NEWS AND NOTES” David Bonczkiewicz
Welcome back Club Members, Polka Dancers, Family and Friends
It’s time again for another fun filled season of music and special events, starting things off will be our membership drive and appreciation dance on Sept 11th . We welcome club members, government employees, first responders police officers and fire fighters, and will be “FREE” to you all for this annual event to show off the club and to see how much fun we have here at our Polish Home. Those of you wanting to join our club just simply see any board officer or bartender for more information.
As you may have noticed we had our parking lot repaired and resurfaced this summer costing us $6,000, it was money used wisely and taken from our building fund account. As we look at ways to add to our building account and look at our next project, we are asking all of our Club members, family and guests willing to donate or loan us the funds to start our next project and repair and resurface the roof. I have received three estimates for the project and we are looking at just over $30,000.00 to complete the project. As we did with our remodeling project of the bar and dance hall we received funds donated from our members or received a small loan that we refunded back, also note that this is for a non-profit organization and may be tax deductable. So if there is anyone able to or know of someone willing to donate or loan us the money please see any of the Board of Directors or our President Mary Kiselus. Out of state polka music will be visiting our club November 5th, & 6th, music will be provided by one of the nation’s top polka bands the “Polka Country Musicians” from Connecticut. We will have our Meet & Greet on Friday evening November 4th starting at 6pm, DJ music by “Nickelcity” Dave and guess what it’s FREE !! The Saturday and Sundays events will cost $12.00 at the door each day and kids under 16 are FREE. The Polish kitchen will be open once again and look for bar specials all day long.
Our event calendar is posted on the web site, “Facebook” and a copy provided in this news letter. Look for our “Talent Show” event , club dinner and dances and our Polish Polonia dances featuring the “Scorpion Band”.
See you in September.
