Dear Members, Friends and Patrons,
Hello and Best Wishes to all.
Time sure flies by fast as we have fun at the Pulaski Club. Once again we started 2015 with “POTLUCK POLKA PARTY” a great way to begin the year. This special event was well attended and great fun to share many different and delicious dishes prepared by our members. Thank you to everyone for contribution of your favorite dish and all who took part in this New Year’s Day celebration.
Our New Year’s Eve gala was as well a success, well attended and enjoyed by all. The decorations, the cold table, main meal and deserts were wonderful. I extend all compliments received from our guests to all our officers and members who dedicated their time and hard work in preparation for this special event. “THANK YOU” all you efforts are greatly appreciated.
During January and February we held fewer events than usual. I was glad our membership meeting and dance on January 18th was well attended. We love to have all our members present at our meetings and share their thoughts and ideas. I extend a sincere thank you to our 1st Vice President Kaz Tysiac for conducting the meeting in my absence. GREAT JOB KAZ.
The Feb. 8th “Paczki Party” was a lot of fun and a delicious meal was served by our kitchen staff. We ended February with an incredible weekend event on Feb.21 and 22nd hosting the “DyVersaCo” band from Minnesota under the direction of Mr. Craig Ebel. The band members together with 9 year old Christopher Ebel provided great entertainment. This was truly a great event. The wonderful meals and best of all the attendance was great both days. I extend a special THANK YOU and appreciation to our sponsors Mr. Gene Swick and Don and Gale Haderle as without their help in hosting the out of state bands would not be possible. Thank you to David Bonczkiewicz for his efforts in arranging this special event as well as Larry and Kaz Tysiac for hall preparation, our bar staff, kitchen staff under direction of Halina Kosinski and everyone who extended a helping hand during the entire weekend.
Please refer to the “Schedule of Events for 2015” available at the club as well as on our website for our future activities. March and April will be a couple of busy months as we will celebrate St Patrick’s Day on March 15th, host Polka Power Band from California on March 28th, Easter Dinner and Dance on March 29th, Dyngus Day Party on April 6th , rummage sale on April 10th and 11th and another special event hosting Buffalo Knewz Band on April 18th and 19th. Please plan to attend and pass the word along to your family and friends and enjoy the music and the polish style meals prepared here at the club.
I would like to end with welcoming our newly elected executive committee for 2015. I believe we have a great team of dedicated members and we will all work together in best interest of the Pulaski Club as we move forward.
See you all at our March 15th membership meeting and all future club events.
BEST WISHES TO ALL FOR A VERY HAPPY EASTER!! Mary Kiselus, President
1st VICE PRESIDENT – Kaz Tysiac
Welcome everyone to our 2015 social season! We started out decorating the club for Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras as well as for the out-of-state band performance on Feb 21st and 22nd. We have some wonderful upcoming activities - Elvis Night, St. Patrick's Day festivities, Easter Dinner/Dance, Dyngus Day and many others. Please refer to our website (as well as the newsletter) on all the details for these events. Ask any Board member about ticket sales as some of these events are by advanced reservations only please. During our recent general membership meeting we have welcomed four new members to the club and we hope that members will take time to give them a warm welcome. We will be introducing more new members at the next meeting. As you enter the club, you will notice "sign-up sheets" for the upcoming events, we are asking for volunteers to help "lighten the load" on the volunteers that are the backbone behind our activities. We welcome new recipes, new decorating ideas, and possible new entertainment ideas for our 3rd and 4th quarter events.
See you at the membership meeting and dance on March 15th.
2nd VICE PRESIDENT – Halina Kosinski The month of March is full of activities at our club. On March 15th we will celebrate St. Patrick's Day and dance to the tunes of Bob Doszak's band. Rose Offerman is preparing a traditional Irish stew with homemade biscuits and desserts. On March 13th we have an Elvis impersonator performing at 7 PM with fish-fry dinner served from 5-7. On March 28th (Sat) Polka Power Band from California will be playing 2pm-6pm. We will be serving soup and sandwich with homemade dessert. The very next day - March 29th we will have our traditional Easter Buffet Dinner from 1-3pm followed by dancing with the Varitones. We will be serving an appetizer plate at every table for everyone to share and at our buffet table you will find your favorite, both, cooked and smoked sausage and baked chicken for those who prefer white meat. There will be a great selection of side dishes and salads as well as your favorite Polish pierogis. Our dessert table will feature homemade goodies, cheese cakes, poppy seed strudel and "babkas." Please make your reservations for this event to make it easier for the cooks to plan the meal and accommodate everyone. On April 6th the day after Easter we have Dyngus Day Party with the Varitones Band and bring your favorite dish as it is a pot-luck event. On the 18th and 19th of April (Saturday and Sunday), Buffalo Knewz Band is returning to play at our club. Food will be served, as usual, both days. April 25th - "Polonia Dance" with Music by Scorpion Band. Traditional Polish dishes will be available throughout the evening. Hope to see you at these events having a great time while supporting our club
TRUSTEES REPORT: Rose Pachura, John Soltys and Teresa Opara The 4th quarter deposits, expenses and invoices have been reviewed and our assessment is in agreement with the Treasurer’s reports. We have made an initial review of the January 2015 expenses as well as completing the end of the year bar inventory and all is in proper order. Teresa Opara is the newest Trustee to the group and will be the new face at the door. The money will be collected at the door for the entrance fee as well as the meal. You will be issued a separate ticket for the meal and this will help with the line at the window for meal pick up. We look forward to seeing our friends and neighbors at the various upcoming events, welcome to our 2015 season!
