MAY 2006

*President s Corner*

Dear Members and Friends,

Ahhh, aren’t we all happy it’s May time again?  Spring is in the air, a time of renewal and a time of planning on how I am going to spend my summer vacation. Oh, sorry, that was in high school.  Well, last summer was sure full of fun and adventures, when we ripped out the interior of our club house and started from scratch.  Good thing that things turned out well but we still have many unfinished odds-n-ends from that fun old time so we will have to just keep on plugging away until all done.

We only have a few events left before our summer break in June so check your calendars and come have some fun to the tunes of your favorite band or just tap your heels while hanging out at the bar sipping a cool and refreshing drink served by our smiling volunteer bartenders, who try very hard to have all the selections you may desire.

Most of the winter visitors have departed for cooler climates and only the core group is staying to keep the fires burning – so to speak.  If those of you who spend the summer away from Arizona, when you return to find those who stayed behind a little slimmer and a little tougher and a little darker than just think of us as that beef jerky which has been drying out in the summer heat.  But we all love it anyway!

The first event of May is our annual “May 3rd Polish Constitution Day” Dinner and Dance, which will be held on Sunday, May 7th.  Stan Maczka and his Accordion Magic will entertain from 2 to 6 PM. Because of this event our monthly Membership Meeting will be held on May 21st from 1-2 PM and the Jolly Timers will entertain from 2-6 PM and the Executive Board Meeting will be held on Friday, May 19th, at 6 PM.

Our hall rentals are doing well and our treasury is recuperating at a nice steady pace to where we can feel comfortable.

I wish to thank Carol Ann & Norm Fritchie for accepting the duties and responsibilities of publishing our monthly Newsletter.  David Bonczkiewicz has taken on many more time consuming responsibilities with the Board of Directors and needed some help with the time consuming task of compiling, printing, folding and sending out the monthly issues. Thank you David for your time and effort and to Tony Kiselus for licking all those stamps each month.

Please come out and support our events.  We love to see your smiling faces. Have a great month of May.

Casimir Kosinski

President

ENTERTAINMENT DIRECTOR - Rose Pachura: We are planning a Fashion Show, with Stein Mart Fashion, of Scottsdale. They are in the process of hiring a new coordinator to hold fashion shows as of May 1, 06. I will know after that date on the time and date. We would like to do the fashion show on Saturday afternoon, because Stein Mart's Coordinator does not work on Sundays. I do need around ten models. If you are interested please contact me so I can put your name down, or I will call you. Models are for Members Only! Now is the time to let me know! The committee is pushing for Saturday, November 4, 06, just before the Holiday's. This date is not yet confirmed. They have beautiful fashions at that time for Christmas and New Year's Eve parties. I will keep you posted on this event. I am hoping by the next newsletter, I will have more information to share. Every member will have to sell tickets to make this a success. I don't know the price as yet, but in May I should know.
