November 2004
President's Corner:
Our hugely successful 65th Anniversary Banquet is now history. A very sincere thank you to all those wonderful volunteers who put it all together, donating much of their personal time and expertise.
Slowly, but surely, hall improvements are taking place. To date we now have new awnings donated and installed by our treasurer Casimir Kosinski with help from his employees; the outside of our building has been repainted with donated paint by member John Gacek; the trim work was painted by Trustee David Bonczkiewicz, his son and son’s friend; and new barstools were obtained and donated by Board of Director Bruno Klus.
In addition to the above, we also now have new outdoor and indoor lights donated and installed by member Andrew Czerski. Much of the needed repair work on our new padded chairs was done by Ray Jorgensen, Henry Spychalski, Tom O’Loughlin, John Twarog and Jerry Masyga. Board of Director Tom O’Loughlin also had to do repair work replacing damaged (by renters) of the front paneling on the stage. Jean Jorgensen and Frances Spychalski (our ladies back-up crew) saw to it that all the volunteers were fed. Additional upgrading work is yet to be done. All volunteers will be greatly appreciated. So many of our members are skilled workers so please volunteer your help if you possibly can. Together we can work miracles!
At our November l4th membership meeting we will be voting for our 2005 officers. All members are urged to attend this important meeting. This is your opportunity to voice your opinion as to who you think will make good officers. Looking forward to seeing you in November,
-Henrietta Nemecek
