September 2004
President's Corner:
Now that the long hot days of summer are coming to an end, your officers once again welcome members back to our monthly meetings. Our first meeting this fall will be on Sunday September l2th starting at l:30 PM. What a great opportunity to meet and share our vacation stories with each other!
The 65th anniversary planning committee met on August 7th to firm up plans for our banquet program, invitations, decorations, etc. and much progress followed. The invitations have all been printed and mailed out and replies are requested by or before September l5th so that table seating arrangements can be made, as this will be a sit-down dinner. Finalizing the entire program is still in progress as we are awaiting responses from invited dignitary guest speakers. Work is also underway on the commemorative booklet, and complimentary copies of it will be given to all in attendance and also to the advertising contributors and supporting patrons.
Our building remodeling committee has not formally met as of this writing, but upgrade progress will shortly begin now that members are returning to the valley after their summer vacations.
At the September meeting a nominating committee for the year 2005 club officers will be appointed. Members, think about it and give this committee your recommendations as to who you think would make a good, hard-working officer. This is your club and it can only be as good as you make it.
