*President's Corner*
Dear Members and Friends,
April ended up to be a very successful month for the club as our events were well attended.
In addition to the three Polka Dances we held a dance on Aril 24th for our Polish speaking patrons, featuring Zbignew (Tony) Galazka Duet with Anna, his new singing partner. Mr. Galazka, who was a frequent performer at Pulaski Club until he relocated to San Diego, was in great form and played the right selections of music to please the large crowd in attendance.
This dance was spearheaded by Frank Tomaszkowicz and Bruno Klus, including numerous volunteers and was a big success for the club. We have other dances of this type scheduled in the future, and I’d like to thank Frank and Bruno for their efforts and a job well done. The next one will be on Saturday, May 15th, 2010.
Our next Polka Weekend is scheduled for May 7, 8 and 9th, with Jimmy K. and Ethnic Jazz, from Ohio. They will be here through the courtesy of Mr. Polka, the indispensable Gene Swick from California, who was not able to be with us for the last Polka Weekend due to health issues. We trust that Gene is feeling better and will be able to attend the dance with Jimmy K. and Ethnic Jazz ‘cause we miss him!
Speaking of health, we found out that Jerry Darlak has some health issues and wish him speedy recovery and quick return to his “Merry Men,” the Buffalo Touch.
Our next Members Meeting will be held on May 16th, 2010 at 12:30 PM and followed by our annual Hawaiian Dance with John Smoltz from 2-6 PM. Wear your casual Hawaiian outfits to impress your friends.
The following Sunday, 5/23/2010 Bob Doszak and his accordion magic will entertain us from 2-6 PM. And we have a couple more dances scheduled for the first part of June so check your schedules and plan on dancing your way into summer of 2010 at our Pulaski Club.
I thank all our Board Members and volunteers without whom all these dances would not be possible to organize.
Your President Casimir Kosinski

1st VICE PRESIDENT - Chez Falkowski:
I would like to invite you to the membership meeting on Sunday, May 15, 2010, at 12:30pm. Please, get involved in running the Club. The Club needs more volunteers for all kind of help.
I am very glad to inform you that attendees of the pop-music dance on April 24th gave us their praises and encouraged us to continue such events for the Polish immigrant community. The whole event was quite beneficial to the Club. Thank you very much to everyone who attended that dance. We specially thank Bruno and Anna Makowski of Europa Pastry Cafe for their generous support. In the Polish tradition there are some days which are celebrated by social gatherings in public (dances) or private parties. So it seems that it is a good idea to schedule pop-music dances in our club on such days as well.
Let me mention the sad story related to the old country - Commonwealth of Poland (Rzeczpospolita Polska). I would like to acknowledge the sincere sympathy from so many people on the sad occasion of the plane crash with Polish elite in Smolensk on April 10, 2010. Some people stopped at the Club to express their sympathy. The Irish-American Club sent us a very nice letter with their condolences.
The circumstances leading to the crash and its investigation are quite fishy - I heard such opinion from people who have no emotional attachment to that part of the world. Personally I am trying to stay away from any conspiracy theory but there have been so many strange coincidences and neglects related to the crash and its investigation (headed by Russian prime-minister Vladimir Putin, former colonel of KGB and former Russian president) that I really doubt if I will learn the truth about it in my lifetime.
