FOR SEPTEMBER 2010

Pulaski Club is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.

*From the President*
Dear Fellow Members and Friends,
I welcome you all back to our Pulaski Club for the last four months of this year, after the summer break. As the temperatures outside will remain warm for a bit longer, we’re hoping that you will come inside and enjoy what we have to offer for the balance of 2010 and beyond.
Our bi-monthly Members Meeting will take place on September 12, at 12:30 PM and the dance will start at 2 PM with Bob Doszak Band providing the entertainment.
With funds collected in the last Super Bowl Raffle, Dave Bonczkiewicz purchased another flat screen TV, this time it’s a 47”, which will be raffled off, again, during the Super Bowl 2011. You can take it home with only a $10.00 winning raffle ticket and 6 for $50.
(the printed version erroneously shown $5 for each raffle ticket)
As our treasury is quite lean the Board of Directors has not undertaken any major projects this summer other than some minor repairs.
Halina Kosinski is working very diligently with her committee to finalize the dance schedule for 2011 and it will be printed and posted as soon as it is available.
We are changing the dance format to three hour duration instead of four as we have noticed that majority of attendees have been leaving at around the three hour mark.
We are hoping that we can save on utilities and entertainment and still provide the same quality you, our members and guests, are accustomed to. The special events with out-of-town bands will continue to play for the full four hours, as they have in the past.
As we do every two years, we will be electing a new Executive Committee with most of the offices being vacated other than the Board of Directors and Trustees. I will be appointing a Nominating Committee during the September meeting and all eligible members are invited to consider serving our club, especially those of you who have not done so in the past.
The Officer’s election will be held during our November meeting and installation of the newly elected officers will take place during our annual Christmas Dinner.
Please support our club by attending the events we organize. Without You the club will just be an empty hall.
Your President, Casimir Kosinski

1st VICE PRESIDENT - Chez Falkowski:
I would like to invite you to the membership meeting on Sunday, September 12, 2010, at 12:30pm. We also plan to initiate new members of the Club during the meeting. I will be notifying applicants to remind them about it. Please, extend your friendship to welcome them. Also consider getting involved in running the Club. The Club needs more volunteers for all kinds of projects.
When you enter the Club you will see significant changes inside the hall. I am quite sure you will be impressed. Bruno Klus persuaded one of his customers to donate restaurant fixtures to our Club. Quite a few volunteers spent their time preparing the hall for future events. You will hear more details during the meeting. It looks like the membership needs to decide what improvements and in what order the Club has to implement them. I would like to mention that we are going to have a disco dance on September 18, 2010, at 7pm – 2am. Please, be advised it is NOT a polka dance event.

CHAIR of Board of Dir. – David Bonczkiewicz
Hello folks, welcome back to the Pulaski Club. It’s been awhile since I’ve written any news from the Board of Directors, but with a busy spring, work and play I just let things slide. Now moving past the summer months and kickin’ things up again for the fall season, here we go again. With our economy the way it is and everybody working it is hard to get GOOD help to do some work around here especially for free or donating their time, but with a little bit of encouragement and persuasion I think we’ve made some progress. Things you may not notice is we’ve installed a hot water tank and as required by Board of Health a new mop sink outside the kitchen. This sink is temporary because some day soon I hope to have the kitchen expanded? I want to thank Frank for accepting these projects and taking on the tedious work to get them completed between his regular responsibilities. The new chairs, couches and tables donated by Bruno Klus.
Nothing new behind the bar but we’ll keep makin’ ya drinks and handin ya a cold beer, CHEERS! With officer elections coming up soon I’ll be pushing to get some new blood in office with new and fresh ideas. Think about how you may be able to help out and help keep our Polish Home going. See ya soon.
